Our 4th day in Kk Kuala Muda kick-started at 0900am on Monday, 21 November 2011, with debriefing given by Sister Burshah regarding the role School Health Unit(Unit Kesihatan Sekolah) in monitoring and supervision of schoolchildren health condition. We were told by the Sister that the KK Kuala Muda School Health Unit will not be operating from November to December due to the upcoming major school holiday break and poor student attendance record. Thus, during this period, the team will plan and create the roster schedule for the next batch of students. In addition, the team will also send consent form to the students so that it can be filled by the parents and passed back to ensure smooth vaccination schedule can be arranged for the students.

KK Kuala Muda School Health Unit are responsible of monitoring a total of 106 primary schools and 35 sceondary schools in Kuala Muda district. In detail, the unit's major concern is confined into 4 age group categories which are Standard 1(7 years old), Standard 6(12 years old), Form1(13 years old) and Form 3(15 years old). This is because this specific age group students are allocated to receive free health immunizations and physical examinations by the Government Health Protocol. The immunization schedule for the students are as follow:
- Standard 1 students are given three vaccinations (BCG+DtaP+Measles) and visual assessments
- Standard 6 students are given booster BCG vaccination(if needed)
- Form1 students(only girls) given HPV vaccination
- Form 3 students given ATT vaccination
In order to ensure smooth track record assessment done, these student's data is recorded into the Rekod Kesihatan Pelajar(Student Health Record) to be reviewed occasionally by the KK Kuala Muda School Health Unit. The book kept carefully by the team to ensure good track of the students health record.
Blue-book that is called as Buku Rekod Kesihatan Pelajar(Student Health Record). It keeps hold of the students health data so that quick review and assessment can be done by the KK Kuala Muda School Health Unit. It is distributed by the Ministry of Education to the students.
Major problem faced by KK Kuala Muda School Health Unit:
- Inability of getting consent from parents
- Defaulters who do not come for immunization and physical assessments
- Poor compliance from students
- Poor follow-up done
