We departed from District Health Office to Klinik Desa Beris Jaya at 9:15am with the aid from two health officer. On arrival, Klinik Desa Beris Jaya was situated in a newly develop area where it is surrounded by a cluster of housing building. This health clinic constitute mainly by Maternal and Child Health Clinic. They provide services such as:
(1) Antenatal Care- Pregnant mothers whom are not fall into high risk pregnancy categories. No delivery service is available in this clinic.
(2) Post-Natal Care- Home visit was conducted by health care nurses from the first ten day of post-delivery days as well as the 20th days post-natally
(3) Family Health Planning- Counselling session is available for couples. Instruments and medications such as Intrauterine Device, Contraceptive Pills, Depot Injection are provided in the clinic.
(4) Child Care- Growth chart plotting, nursery
From a series of questions and answers which were obtained, we found out that, the healthcare system is a two-tier system as this healthcare clinic was under the management of Klinik Kesihatan Jeniang, which serves as headquarters for all the healthcare clinic. There are only healthcare nurses available in the clinic without any consultation from medical officers or specialists.
The second destination was Klinik Kesihatan Jeniang. It serves as a referral center from all the heathcare clinic (primary health care center). Apart from Maternal and Child Health Clinic, Outpatient clinic was part of the constitution of the clinic as well. Services such as chronic illnesses management, health screening for chronic illnesses, delivery room, ultrasonography room, pharmacy services were provided.
